Each year every branch of the NAACP across the nation with over 300,000 members has a once a year fundraiser. This fundraiser aka Freedom Fund raises awareness to what the local branches does in their communities. In addition, they. celebrate those leaders nominated by the community for their work that aligns with our mission.

Proceeds from these events, not only offset the cost to do this celebration for our community, but also for the following year’s programming. Our volunteers brings advocacy and awareness in the areas of Economic Empowerment, Environmental Justice, Education, Health, Civic Engagement and Criminal Justice.

This year, the PEEKSKILL NAACP will have a Sneak Ball. Your comfort is important as we celebrate in the Peekskill high school gym. There will be food, dancing, live bands, and of course, our award ceremony. Under the leadership of our president, Priscilla Augustin, the theme this year is “Stand Tall and be Heard.” Attire - Formal WITH SNEAKERS

The Peekskill NAACP branch wants to reaffirm its stand for social justice for those we are serving, fighting for those who cannot fight for themselves. We must reinforce the importance of standing together; united for the rights of the people, whether you are on the left or the right side....We must stand tall to fight against the violence and war that is around the world because, as locals, we must put people in office who can promote peace not just in our community but around the world. It is so important for us to exercise our voice by standing tall to advocate for what is right for those who are not able to speak for themselves.
